Founded on Communication, Built on Experience
Trusting K9 was founded by Rebecca, a lifelong animal advocate whose journey into professional dog training began long before certifications or facilities — it began with communication.
From working hands-on with both large and small animals to volunteering at a wolf sanctuary in her twenties, Rebecca became deeply fascinated by how animals communicate, regulate emotion, and respond to leadership. Understanding behavior at its core came naturally — long before it became a profession.
While working as a Registered Nurse, Rebecca experienced firsthand how quickly life can change — and how profoundly a dog can step into a support role. Watching her own husky intuitively assist during health challenges reshaped her understanding of the human–canine bond and planted the seed for what Trusting K9 would become.
Where Miscommunication Ends — and Trust Takes Over
After years of assisting rescues, nonprofits, and training programs with behavior support, program development, and rehabilitation, one pattern became impossible to ignore:
Dogs weren’t failing — communication was.
Too often, dogs were labeled stubborn, reactive, anxious, or “too much,” when in reality they were confused, overstimulated, or misunderstood. Trusting K9 was born from a desire to change that narrative — to bridge the gap between human intention and canine understanding.
